Classroom Team Building Games for Teens
Classroom team building games for teens are a great way for them to
work together to learn new skills. These skills can be practiced in a
safe and fun way.
There are a number of team building games that you may want to
promote to your group of teens. Some of these are called
- Building Blind
- Back Drawing
- Blind Obstacle Course
- and Directions, Directions
Here is a brief description of each of these team building games for
teens.
1. Building Blind Classroom Team Building Game
This is a game where the students work in pairs. One student is
appointed as the leader. The remaining students are called builders.
The leader is given a simple structure that only he/she can see. The
builders can not see it. Each group of students is given materials that
will allow them to build the hidden structure.
The goal is for the team to recreate the structure. The leader has to
direct the builders using words only. He cannot show them what to do. He
can only tell them what to do.
This exercise is designed to make the leader give very precise
directions. It is also designed to make the builders listen very
carefully and follow instructions very carefully.
2. Back Drawing Classroom Team Building Game
Once again, the students work in pairs. One student is designated as
the artist and they are positioned behind their partner. The student who
is the artist is given a list of items that he will trace (with his
finger) on their partners back.
The goal is for the partner to identify as many of those objects as
possible. This is designed to increase visualization skills.
3. Blind Obstacle Course
The objective of this game is to help the students learn how to give
precise directions. It also promotes teamwork among the group.
4. Directions, Directions
In this game where students are divided into groups of 4-6 people,
the goal is to teach them how to better follow instructions. It also
teaches them how to focus and improve their memory skills. |
